Gallery Simon is pleased to present <Colorful Weights 彩色荷重>, a solo exhibition by Bae Hyung Kyung, who has plastically sought answers for the questions about human existence, from 7th November, 2019 to 11th January, 2020. The artist has been working on human existence which originated from chaotic times, for a long time since the mid-1980s. In this exhibition, she is looking into the agony of contemporary people who face a life of dehumanization. She also made new changes to paint human bronze figures. The collision between the depth of the bronze and the lightness of the color tells us the discord between the inside and outside of the human, and the confusion. It seems that the artist’s question, which has been directed toward the inner side of human beings, has come to the surface. On the other hand, you can also enjoy drawings of various aspects of human. Through this exhibition, you can enjoy the mature fruits of Bae Hyung Kyung’s art world.
